Quick and easy hummus.
Ingredients and equipment
Main ingredients
- 250 g Chickpeas
- 60 ml Lemon juice
- 60 ml Tahini (well-stirred)
- 1 Garlic clove (small)
- 30 ml Olive oil
- 0.5 tsp Ground cumin
- Salt to taste
- 45 ml Water/Aquafaba
- Paprika to taste

- Food processor (blender/stick blender)
- Mortar and pestle

3 minutesCombine the stirred tahini and lemon juice in the food processor and run it for a minute. Scrape the walls and bottom of the food processor. Run it again for about 30 seconds.

3 minutesMince the garlic with some salt. Add the minced garlic, olive oil, cumin and some salt to taste to the whipped tahini and lemon juice. Process for 30 seconds. Scrape the walls and bottom. Process for 30 more seconds.

5 minutesAdd half of the chickpeas and process for a minute. Scrape the sides and bottom, add the remaining chickpeas and process for 1-2 minutes or until smooth.

3 minutesAt this point, the hummus might be too thick or not as smooth as we like. If you used canned chickpeas you can add some of the strained aquafaba, otherwise add cold water and process until you reach the perfect consistency.
