  • 125 g yoghurt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 125 g flour
  • 5 g backing powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • Jam to taste ((blueberry, raspberry or something else))
  • 0.5 L oil (for frying)

Steps

    Place the oil in a caserole on the stove to heat up.

    In a big bowl mix the wet ingredients well with a whisk.

    • 125 g yoghurt

    Add the sieved flour to the wet ingredients along with the sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix well with a whisk until you get a smooth batter.

    Test to see if the oil has heeted up by putting a little bit of the batter in. If it starts bubbling around the edges and floats, it is ready.

    Using a spoon pour little bits of batter into the oil and fry until golden. If they do not turn by themselves do so with the help of a spoon.

    Remove from the oil with a slotted spider spoon onto a plate with kitchen paper to absorb any excess oil that drips from them.

    Fry until all the batter has been used up and serve with jams of your choice.
